JVC have announced upgraded versions of their X Series of bulb-based D-ILA projectors at CES 2017.
The new models are the DLA-X9500, the DLA-X7500 and the DLA-X5500, which replace the current X5000, X7000 and X9000. The new projectors are all 100 lumens brighter, so the X5500 is 1,800 lumens, the X7500 is 1,900 lumens and the X9500 is 2,000 lumens. The X9500 comes in black, whilst the X7500 and X5500 come in a choice of black or white. The new projectors include automatic detection for HDR 10, as well as a dedicated HDR mode. JVC have also added support for Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG) and a new low latency mode to reduce input lag when gaming. The e-shift4 4K precision featured has also been updated with Multi Pixel Control (MPC) optimised for 4K sources, along with an upgraded version of JVC's Clear Motion Drive (CMD) frame interpolation feature. JVC have yet to announce a release date and although there has been no indication of pricing yet, the new models will presumably be priced similar to the current X9000, X7000 and X5000 models.
