We purchased this TV in November 2013 to replace an older 50" Samsung plasma TV. It is a really lovely piece of kit, with only 2 leads connecting from the connection box, it has a truly elegant design. The picture quality however, when 'straight out of the box' was seriously concerning until I came to the AVForums website and used their excellent 'walk through' of the best settings to use through the TV menu. For such a slim design, the speakers are surprisingly good in terms of range, particularly in the higher end. However, at the time of purchasing the TV, we decided to upgrade our surround sound system (to the Samsung HT-F9750W, which also upgrades Blu-Ray disks to 4K) and we are very, very pleased we did - we now have awesome sound to match the awesome pictures! This TV really is superb in upgrading both HD and standard definition pictures (though understandably 'standard' when upgraded becomes somewhat 'soft focussed' rather than sharp in quality). The only minor quibble I have is that sometimes there is a kind of very small 'ripple' effect around fast moving objects. 3D content is absolutely superb, producing a really immersive experience! Oh! and the screen, although larger, takes up less space, due to the thin bezel, than our previous 50" screen. Really could not be happier, particularly as all the software is upgradeable, should 4K standards change in the future. There are a number of very 'smart' features available, such as gesture and voice control, that we are not using but that may be very useful to others. The smart hub though, for links to YouTube and the full array of 'catch up' and subscription services, is extremely useful, extensive and easy to use. Now looking forward to streaming 4K services coming along, with Netflix apparently leading the way. Very highly recommended, particularly now that it is £500 cheaper than we bought it!
