Panasonic TX-50DX750B User Review

    Very pleased
Review of Panasonic TX-50DX750B LED LCD TV by CaptJohn, Jan 4, 2017.
Originally purchased this for £899 but over the 2016/17 festive period it dropped down to £779. Price match was honoured and I have since received the difference.
Initially thought the picture was "washed out" but by following the guide from Steve Withers the picture is excellent (SD).
I've not yet had the opportunity to watch 4K or HDR (except on sample from iplayer).
Disappointed by lack of SCART socket (required for viewing and burning old VHS tapes from camcorder) but have found a work-around for this.
When playing Planet Earth II from HDD unit via HDMI 1 I noticed that the settings changed automatically and displayed a most amazing picture. This was not an HDR 4K source but the television reacted as though it was one! Why is this?
One thing I have noticed is the difference in types of camera used by broadcasters and film producers. Also the effects used for period dramas are very apparent.
This item was purchased for £779 from John Lewis in 2016. The reviewer still owns this product.

Good guide to setting up the picture. In the sound section of the menu the PCM figure needs to be set to 0dB in order to equalise sound output from external units and live TV when using a soundboard.
