Yamaha RX-A2050 User Review

    Superb sound
Review of Yamaha RX-A2050 av receiver by justmeagain, Sep 24, 2015.
when I first hooked up the Yamaha tx-a2050 to the monitor audio per 5.1 system I was a bit disappointed. The sound was very bright with too little bass. I originally played the speakers through an Onkyo sr508 receiver and found the sound to be richer. Considering The Yamaha cost 3 x as much I was surprised.

However, after a few days of playing around with the settings it no sound superb. Them biggest improvement was setting the default setting of 'flat' to 'natural', then tinkering around with the DSP settings.

When I feed a Qubuz Hires music stream through it, the sound is mesmerising. Send a bluray or Netflix HD movie through it and it is sensational. The Star Trek 'into darkness' track is treated to every clunk and metallic click as though you were in the enterprise itself.
