This film delivers everything a Star Wars fan ever wanted, or could have hoped for. It is the best Star Wars film since The Empire Strikes Back.
Its rated PG13 and with good reason, as there are no bright or shiny people or ships in this film, just dark and gritty ones. The characters (our heroes) have all done questionable things in the pursuit of the Rebel cause and we get to see that on screen as well.
It is by no means perfect so lets get that out of the way -
The music score isn't the best, but the composer allegedly only had five weeks to get it together. The first act and first hour drags and has no continuity or flow whatsoever. The middle act, upon the cameo scene of Darth Vader, middlingly ups the pace. Then the final act delivers everything you've ever wanted from a Star Wars film with an adrenalin rushed bang of unequaled proportions.
The film has the best special effects and battle scenes ever seen in a Star Wars film and unlike every other Star Wars film end sequence, where the final action cuts from one place to another, these are not disjointed at all and just seamlessly flow into one another as one and the same overall story arc. The shots and the flow of the final scenes are both visually stunning and emotionally involved and are well worth the price of ticket admission alone.
