With my prior Onkyo deciding to give up the ghost, time for a new receiver
Shortlists at the circa £500 were few but this Sony popped up time and again. And a quick audition gave it the thumps up.
Connectivity is simple and the set up is easy to follow. Hardest part is knowing what the different terminology means compared to prior av receivers.
While there is much to praise the biggest plaudits are down to it's sound performance. So much so that on a regular movie night with the lads, it didn't take long for someone to realise I'd replaced my receiver, commenting on the immersive sound and clarity.
A great performer. Additional outputs to double up with an amplifier would have been perfect, plus backlight on the remote. But for the price its a bargain!
