I didn't hate the movie, it just doesn't have that Star Wars sparkle that you get from the OT or even Force Awakens and Rogue One in places for that matter.
There has been huge criticism of The last Jedi, and tbh in a lot of areas its well founded. The sudden move to re add a comedy relief character after it failed so badly with JarJar, now we get Fin who's only job seems to be comedy relief.
The way the movie deals with Luke, Leia and even Snoke, it all seems rushed or they just didn't know what to do and that this was the route of least resistance to get the movie finished. Characters that had so much potential were wasted, Phasma for example, even the battles seemed a little lackluster.
It just doesn't feel like Star Wars, if you remove the Star Wars moniker it could be any space film.
I do wonder if there is a lot on the cutting room floor that could have made this a far far better film, they maybe could add that in and remove the day out at the horse races on the Blue-ray release.
I was really looking forward to this, but alas it just didn't bring back any love for the franchise. This is a huge shame as I'm an avid Star Wars fan and this just isn't Star Wars for me.
