Panasonic TX-40CX700B User Review

Good image - not Smart yet!
Review of Panasonic TX-40CX700B television by MassiG, Apr 26, 2015.
I just bought this TV from Currys to replace a Sony LED TV.
The image quality I would say is very good. Much better than my old TV. When watching HD programs i struggle to imagine how much better a 4K program could be as even in standard HD it is fantastic. The local dimming also seems to be doing the job and helps making the blacks really black.
The Audio is also pretty good for a relatively thin unit.

Unfortunately none of the apps work! Kind of annoyed as you would think that they would release a TV with at least some apps working like Youtube or Netflix. I knew that freeview play was not available but pretty much none of the apps work.

No Netflix / No Youtube / No catch up (as it is dependent on Freeview Play) / No Amazon. I enquired with Currys and Panasonic and the dates are pretty vague ... potentially May for Netflix and youtube ... later for freeview. Sort of disappointed by how slow this is.

DLNA seems to work well - although a little confusing as there are various options to connect to the devices on my network. Some of them work some of them do not - nonetheless pictures and video come out well and i have not experienced buffering issues.
This item was purchased for 899 from Currys in 2015. The reviewer still owns this product.
