Excellent headphones which seem to handle with ease any type of music thrown at them. Good bass that doesnt overpower or muddy the sound, really nice mids that make vocals sound lush and highs that do not shrill or pierce no matter how long you listen for.
Been listening to these along side the B+W P7, wouldnt say they were better but by no means inferior, different sound signature but more than a match for the P7's. Build quality not quite as good but just as comfy for long listening periods.
The soundstage of these headphones is the big selling point for me, Nad's roomfeel really does seem to make a difference. Nad claim it makes them sound more like loudspeakers and I would go along with this, they give a presence to the sound that does feel more like listening to speakers than normal headphones, very difficult to explain in writing this experience.
Overall a great set of headphones which for me give a better all round performance than the Sony MDR-1 or the Sennheiser Momentums. I found both of these to have too much off a warm bassy sound that sacrificed the mids and highs whereas the Nad HP50 sound more natural. There is a slight warmth to the sound compared to the B+W P7 and if I was pushed I would say the P7 slightly edge in SQ but the HP50 win out in depth of sound.
