    Better than my local Liemax.
Review of Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens 3D Collector's Edition Blu-ray by raduv1, Nov 3, 2016.
I will not lie as if memory serves I gave this a 9 on its cinematic release as the film ( for me ) achieved what it set out to do whist still being entertaining doing it .

It needed to inject new life into the SW universe with charectors that are once again are engaging for the audience . It managed that in spades for me although it did pander a little heavily for us geeks. That said I thought it laid great foundations for the saga going foward.

I watched this BD 3D version on a 55" SUHD Samsung JS9000 that has been pro calibrated for 3D. As such (like other 3D films ) it was a delight to watch last night and a better experience that when I watched it on Liemax on its cinematic release. There is so much more detail in this BD release that was lost at the cinema in 3D. Colour remains bright and vibrant with no visible crosstalk ( on my display ) with pin sharp PQ.

Audio on this release , as the 2D version I find a little lacking in punch although the overall soundstage is ok. An upgraded Atmos mix should of been in there for me.

Well worth a purchase , also like the packaging it comes in.

    • Great starting point for a whole new Saga.
    • 3D conversion on home viewing is crisp clean and colourful.
    • Nice collectors edition box art.

    • No Atmos mix is a bummer
    • I will have to triple dip if a UHD version is released
