Game of Thrones Season 6 Steelbook User Review

  • HD2k15
Another cracking season, just keeps getting better and better.
Review of Game of Thrones Season 6 Steelbook blu-ray by HD2k15, Nov 14, 2016.
Purchased from Amazon: Game of Thrones - Season 6 with Bonus Disc (Exclusive to Amazon.co.uk) [Blu-ray] [Region Free]

The case that the discs are housed in is rubbish and made of cardboard, that you have to undo the sticky adhesive that keeps it together therefore it looses it integrity and looks like it has been put together by a four year old. It also has a lenticular type of front, that is marked and easily scratched.

Apart from the poor below HBO standard case issues, the content on the discs is great as ever.

Season 6 kicks off exactly where season 5 ended.. But ultimately it was the moment where the tv series and the George R.R. Martin novels would start to depart from one another as it catapulted (or rather plummeted 50 feet) to its endgame..

This is the season that would define the series and act as the starting gun in the race to the iron throne.. Daenerys Targaryen gathers her army, Winterfell is finally reclaimed, Arya Stark is still working on her Christmas list, Cersei's plans start to unfold in the most gut-wrenching way possible and a truly evil character meets their long-awaited demise..

It's taken many twists and turns to get here and despite Martin's narrative debuting 20 years ago now, the series still remains unpredictable and constantly keeps us guessing right up until the credits roll..

Season 7 of the HBO hit series is said to premier sometime in June with Season 8 scheduled sometime in 2018 and I for one can not wait to find out exactly how Cersei Lannister gets her comeuppance.. After all she is a power hungry tyrant that would do anything for her children, and it seems now she is all out of children..

    Pros

    • Stunning picture & audio quality

    Cons

    • The Amazon limited edition Blu-ray case is awful and tacky, this is something that should of not passed QA checks.
