Panasonic DP-UB820EB user review

  • Excellent purchase and value and a superb performer

I purchased both a Panasonic UB820EK and UB154 during this last year and both are super players , and is everything that all the other reviews say !!… and I do not regret my purchases .

One criticism I have though is that the remote control is extremely small but this can be solved by simply purchasing the UB 9000 flagship remote control instead which works perfectly well with the 820 and is available for approximately £35 and as such is highly recommended as an upgrade .

I have a recommendation that you may wish to put into place though, a USB memory stick into the rear of the player to facilitate memory for the replay or restart of a disc if you stop and start it halfway through as the player will not remember where you leave the disc playing if you simply switch it off halfway through a film. The 820 player is in typical Panasonic specification and highly technical , my only other small problem is perhaps the streaming interface which is very clunky but I didn’t buy it to stream movies as the performance of 4K with the Panasonic 820 is simply superb and being based upon the UB 9000 but at a much cheaper price is an absolute bargain and a highly recommended purchase. A considered backup player , the Panasonic 154 ,is a cheap budget version if funds are an issue but it still plays 4K discs very well albeit that it lacks Wi-Fi.
This item was purchased for 299 from Richer Sounds in 2020 . The reviewer still owns this product.
