As a big fan of George Romero's 'Dead' trilogy I am interested to know anyone's opinion of two other zombie movies I've been hearing about recently; 'Return of the Living Dead' & 'Brain Dead'. Are these movies any good? Are they black comedies? And how do they compare to Romero's trilogy?

    Thanks

I think return of the dead is a comdey and brain dead id defently a black comedy. There both pretty good films.Romeros triology is more realistic.

return of the living dead is a great film and gives reference to romero in it but it is on the lighter side of things and not as heavy as romero or fulci, forget the couple that came after it cause this film was good as a one off.
can't say that any are more realistic cause in herts we don't have any zombies runnning around I'm afraid.

You should live in essex where I do. The place is full of them.

They are particularly bad on friday and saturday nights after the pubs kick out. ;)

The kebab shops seem popular with them too. Instead of walking around slowley like they used to, they now drive about in old white Nova's blasting out UK garage.;)

LOL! As an Essex man myself, I agree with KevB! Which is why I escape and go to Central London to catch a Motorhead show - I prefer the company of Cenobites instead. :) Zombies should stay on the screen under the direction of Romero, Fulci, Jackson (peter, not Michael!), etc, and not roaming about in my home town.
