    Hi All.
What a great and helpfull forum. Il be reading for some time now and the information here is Top class.

I need some advise please. This question maybe asked lots of times before but I cant find anything so please please help if you can.( and i apologise for my englease.)

I purchase a LG RZ 42PX11 42" plasma tv. I have also purchase a Zinwell bright view to improve the PQ.
    Now all my units are:
    Lg plasma tv
    Zinwell bright view
    Sky +
    Sony DVD player.

Please can someone explain me in plain englease :lesson: what is the best way to conect all this units together for the best PQ please have in mind that I am not very good with all this jargon stuff :suicide: .

I have attached a picture of the rear of the plasma and a rundown of the inputs/outputs bellow.

    1. REMOTE CONTROL
    2. RS-232C INPUT(CONTROL/SERVICE) PORT
Connect to the RS-232C port on a PC.
    3. DVI INPUT / AUDIO INPUT / RGB INPUT
Connect the monitor output socket of the PERSONAL COMPUTER
    to this socket.
Note: If you want to use RGB/DVI audio, we strongly recommend
that you use the cable that has a core, or the EMI Fillter
    core along with separete cable.
    4. COMPONENT INPUT
Connect DVD video outputs to Y, PB, PR of COMPONENT
INPUT and audio outputs to Audio sockets of AUDIO INPUT.
    AUDIO/VIDEO IN SOCKETS (AV4)
Connect the audio/video out sockets of external equipment to
    these sockets.
    S-VIDEO/AUDIO IN SOCKETS
Connect the S-VIDEO out socket of an VCR to the S-VIDEO
    socket.
Connect the audio out sockets of the VCR to the audio sockets
    as in AV4.
    5. ANTENNA INPUT
    6. EURO SCART SOCKET
Connect the euro scart socket of the VCR to these sockets.
    7. POWER CORD SOCKET
This Monitor operates on an AC power. The voltage is indicated
on the Specifications page. Never attempt to operate
    the Monitor on DC power.
    8. AUDIO/VIDEO IN SOCKETS (AV5)
    S-VIDEO/AUDIO IN SOCKETS

    Thanks in advance.

I don't have a plasma screen but I used to use a Pro-V line doubler (which is very similar to your Brite-View, I believe) with an LCD projector, which I think isn't a million miles different from your setup. But I do emphasise that I could be wrong here.

I think you should connect things this way:

s-video out on your Sky + box to s-video in on the Brite-View.

component out on the DVD player to component in on the Brite-View.

VGA (15 pin D-sub connector) out on the Brite-View to RGB input on your plasma. Select "RGB output" on the Brite-View and (if you need to) "RGB in" on the plasma.

Then you use the Brite-View's remote control to switch between Sky + and DVD.

As I say, I could be wrong. But I don't think you'll do any damage by trying the above - and even if it doesn't work, it will at least give you a starting-point to experiment from.

    Good luck.

Ok for what it's worth, here's my ideas

Firstly get hold of a JS RGB to Component converter box from
    av-sales.co.uk or similar
    And..
    2 Good quality scart leads
    1 Good qulaity Componet lead
    1 Good Quality VGA lead

From Dvd Player use one of the scart leads and conect to
VCR Scart on Sky box, make sure RGB is active from the dvd
player it may be a option in the menu, Then using 2nd Scart
Lead from TV scart on Sky into the JS converter ,from there
use component cable from converter into your zinwell, And yes
you guessed it the VGA lead from zinwell into the VGA sockit on your
    Plasma
