Tips :
1 : Boot time : 29.76 seconds with background photo added
2 : When updating firmware download as is dont touch it and just copy paste to usb stick
and let zidoo locate it and it will test and unzip it for you .
3 : Once firmware is installed power off box then unplug from the mains for a few seconds then re-attach to the mains and power back on the Zidoo Box . ( just helps re-set the zidoo )
4 : Go to apps long click on Home Theater v3.0 app menu appears highlight Boot straight to Home Theater v3.0
and when you power on your X10 it will go straight to the Home Theater v3.0 screen .
5 : Z10 can take a 3.5 inch drive or a 2.5 inch drive with a caddy .
Ssd Drive for Silent operation and no fan enabled . [ which i have tested ]
6 : Dont clog Z10 with many downloaded apps [ Bloat wear ] it can make it struggle and cause issues try keep it minimal as possible as they use a lot of resources and run in the background and can cause crashes etc
7 : Boot time from power on to home screen approx 29.76 .
8 : It pays to physically unplug the unit from the mains which re sets the unit and defrag it on occasion if you experience some odd issues .
9 : Where to buy from : High Performance Media Boxes - UK BASED - futeko.com
10 : How to add Badge icons on H.T.v3.0 so add description in file name :

Ghost in the Shell (UHD-HEVC)(TrueHD Atmos).mkv
  • (4K) = 4K badge
  • (3D-AVC) = 3D+H.264 badge
  • (UHD-HEVC) = 4K+H.265 HEVC badge
  • (AVC) = H.264 badge
  • (HEVC) = H.265 HEVC badge
  • (AVC) = H.254 MPEG-4/AVC badge
  • (DTS-HD MA 5.1/7.1) = DTS-HD High Resolution Audio badge Dolby
  • (TrueHD) = TrueHD badge
  • (Dolby) = Dolby Digital badge
  • (DTS) = DTS badge
  • .iso = ISO badge
  • .mkv = MKV badge

As this will have a different motherboard 1296 and on Android 7.1
And a different software updates to the Zidoo X10 etc
To save confusion id start an official owners thread .

Price : £239.99 Futeko Z10

Why not setup as a Zidoo Z series thread and avoid the confusion caused with the multiple X threads?!

Hows that then better .
Are you sticking with your x9s adam

Or brings nothing new with these products ?

Thanks

Can't see a reason to upgrade as yet, but will see what the development and support roadmap for the x series looks like before deciding.

Like any product when new comes along support slowly drops .
New firmware coming soon im hearing .

I thought the X series was going Android 7.1 but with these new Z boxes coming are they now thinking differently now in plan of action ?

Hi!
The Z series will arrive with Android 7.x pre-installed.
At the same time, the X series will also be updated to Android 7.x and both X and Z series will have the same ueser interface.
Since it was announced that the X series would be updated to Android 7, the only "news" is the time where this will take place (with the release of the Z series).

If you check here again you will also find the first hi-res photos of the Z9S ;)

Well i thought the X series was going 7.1 at much later date after the Z 20 etc were updated .

But the Z10 / Z9s coming out was not expected so soon and made me think the old X series may not be getting it .
Hopefully yes .

the production of series X will stop or is already stopped, it will not keep the series X and the series Z.

And I guess they'll put all their effort on the new serie Z about the next FW, we will have maybe 1 or 2 FW for the serie X and after it will be finished and it's normal.

and about android 7 with series X, I have doubts.

that's what I think

Will have to wait and see but it looks that way.

Or no one will upgrade to the new .

A bit on the expensive side... a lot more than I paid for the X9S.

We bought our boxes at the right time way back but now with more software and being a little popular now ......
H.T.v2 and soon Music player 3.0 its pushed prices up . :(

Mirror can you give me the exact mesurments of this unit as what ive seen its 302mm wide x 240mm Depth x 100mm Height

Is this correct ?
As thought it would be roughly the same as the X10 unit but with added Height because of feet fitment .

I will stick my neck out and say width Dimensions are totally wrong on the spec sheet out and whats been banded about .
They seem exactly the same as the X10 give or take .
No way is it 302mm wide .

Unit size same as X10, 302mm is the package size.

Id imagine Height maybe a few mm taller due to feet .

where does this leave the more expensive x20/x20pro models ?

I suppose it can be a cosmetic way of thinking of theses new boxes out if you like it to blend in with your other equipment go x20 / Pro

If you prefer the smaller look go Z10 / 9s

But yes the new Z10 will more or less do the same as such apart from the SAudio xlr connection side of things .

But good to have choice / looks connectivity etc .

I was hoping for a Z10 sample coming my way to promote this thread like the X10 thread but sadly i dont think so . :(

I know it's early days (and I will ask the question again) but is it worth upgrading from my X10 to the Z10?

My two cents ......

Id imagine they will slowly drop support of the X series
Concentrate on the Z Series line .
Z10 will have Android 7.1
Latest 1296 chipset with more connectivity .

Id imagine that pause before playback commences should be gone ?
Better security on Android 7.1 ?

Upgrade is always better at least you know it will future proof you for a few years as such .

a better looking unit

Always good to have a new Gadget to play with :)

Additional features with 7.1 HDR10 + ?

Better more robust power supply with led light

IMO No.

I think the X10 carries out the same functions as the Z10 and the quality of playback will be the same. Basically the same unit.

I intend to carry on using the X10 until a unit comes out that is a big improvement over the X10 and not just a makeover.

so going on from here what problems does the x range have that they can't solve reading between the lines i don't think the x range will have the android 7 update just z range why have two boxes doing the same thing? i was going to pull the trigger on the x20 pro but now i can't see it getting much more updates if it has problems
