Exactly such as those with Multi channel PCM sound tracks, unless that's been fixed?

I was considering giving it another go which is why I asked. I don't currently own any DV material so no desperate need to get one.

Pcm issues are mostly using soundbars that cant handle certain sound tracks or tv screens etc

but Ziddo has certain tick box settings now that may help .

using a AV Amp ive never come across any issues as the Ziddo just passes audio through etc .

I can't say I have a particular issue with mine. It may take a second or two when first accessing but that's about it. In fact, when I went to watch a movie on Saturday, the access was pretty instant.

Just double checking, I thought films with multi channel PCM didn't play properly? I seem to remember trying one of the Harry Potters or Casino Royale and it was either stereo or wrong somehow going through my processor. Others confirmed the same behaviour at the time. Not a deal breaker by any means as most films are either DTS/Dolby but did affect a few.

Yes remember something like that correct

for me mine are all either dts , DD + or Dts HD Master or like your self
The only Movies that are Stereo or Mono
are my classic b&w movies .

sadly there will always be a bug or something that effects these type of players but most major or minor ones are addresed .

Congratulations Zidoo. You've managed to enable the player to be able to read the metadata and give details such as audio and video formatting, but override any details included in the file names. What they've basocally done is made it so all DTS:X encoded tracks now show up as only having DTS-HD encoded audio.

Do they test these features before they implement them?

There's now no way to get the DTS:X soundtrack indicated on the info for a film.

EDIT: This only appears to effect films where the DTS:X encoded audio track has been muxed with the inclusion of a seperate DTS-HD MA 7.1 sounmdtrack. THe player prioritises the DTS-HD MA soundtrack over the DTS:X soundtrack and only indicates the presence of the DTS-HD MA soundtrack via the icons.

Looks like I'll have to delete the 7.1 DTS-HD audio from those files this has effected in order for the player to correctly indicate DTS:X as being the default audio.

It is also annoting that the player also now indicates the presnce of additional audio such as 2 channel Dolby Digital as well as indicating the primary default audio track's format.

dante01: Thank you for the information, I will not download the new firmware. The movies are playing fine, I don't want to transcode anything. I only play the original files from BDMV folders.
For movie The Thing with DTS X will be problem? (not tested)

It only effects content that you've included both a standalone DTS-HD MA audio track as well as a DTS-HD MA track inclusive of DTS:X metadata. Regular rips will not result in this and you'd only ordinarilly get the one DTS-HD MA track inclusive of the metadata.

I doubt you've any content that would be effected by the issue I had?

In my case, the DTS:X track was added to MKV files that already had a 7.1 DTS-HD MA soundtrack. I kept both because I'm the kind of guy who likes comparing things.

A regular MKV rip wouldn't even allow you to do what I've done. BDMV folders will not be effected at all.

dante01: Thank you very much for your reply. Yes, I was worried. I play regular BDMV only movies, often the soundtrack is marked as DTS HD MA 7.1 / Atmos. Example Halloween 2018.
I always wait, never allow an update and always receive it later in the month. Today I turned on the wi-fi, so I saw the update, but put the back button and turned off the internet. I can do it later.

I have new information, I don't know if people know who bought the Zidoo Z10 Pro. I tried the 14TB Toshiba HDD, the new one tried the 16TB Toshiba Server (Enterprise Capacity MG08). Manual have Zidoo wrote that it has a capacity limit of 14TB. I have no problem, the new one shows a capacity of 14.9TB! :)
If someone has more information or could try a bigger disk, please let me know.

Not a fan of the new media info tags. Some are wrong with no option to change or delete them.

I find also there a bit Bold / Big as such .

I upgraded my Z1000 Pro to v6.3.40 during the week, I'm using it with Roon and its just brilliant.

This box gets better and better! One of the best boxes I have bought over the years to be honest.

Apologies if it has been covered before but what is the recommended 14Tb drive for these (WD Red?) and what is the best/quickest way to transfer MKV files to installed HDDs? Thanks.

Just considering whether to move from an external Seagate HDD (reliability issues) to a more reliable quality on board drive.

Cant comment on best hard drive
but quickest way to install mkv to internal drives is by using Zidoo media explorer as you can click multiple files at once to transfer over .
Using usb stick or sata cable etc

At least they are still in the game , good to have a 3rd party again to heat up the competition.
They have a lot to catch up and are far left behind .. let's see what they bring to the table:cool:

yes thought they fell asleep 😂😂
one thing which put me off Huge on the Zappiti was you need internet for the Movie posters etc

Zidoo you dont and still see the posters stored without internet unless things have changed ?
so the contenders are
Zidoo
Dune
Zappiti

and yes deff need catching up another 9 months Zidoo will come out with another Box
what that will bring who knows .
id imagine latest Bluetooth 5.2 , Android 11, wi fi ax , Rtd 1620 + or a newer chipset .

maybe a Onyx Black Z11 Pro 😎😎

I've been trying to resolve something here but unsuccessfully so far.

I've created a new category and called it Concerts. I've scanned the Concerts Folder on my NAS and it's put all the files into the Movies category. I can manually add each one to the correct category but how do it delete them from Movies when I've done that ?

It's like the Folder to be scanned needs a destination category.

I think it probably easier to have created a directory outside of the directory the player scans for movies in which yo then store your convert videos. You'd then direct your CINCERT category to scan that directory for concert videos. The movies category wouldn'r then include those videoeos because the directory on which they are hosted isn't scanned by the movies category.

It doesn’t look like there’s another way around it.

I can ‘add’ to a category but can’t ‘remove’ by the look of it.
