I've just downloaded the extended trailer for the new realisation of the the blind swordman story.

It looks suitably intriguing, and the fact that it is written, directed and stars Takeshi Kitano, means that it will probably feature folk staring at each other for lengthy periods then carving each other up, good and proper.

I'm sure there's a more cultural and cerebral sub text but, frankly I'm not interested too much in that.

I just saw this over the weekend, and it's great. Everything Kill Bill should have been.

Some of the CGI was a little noticeable, but I can forgive that because the film was just so much fun.

The fights are incredibly violent (and fast!), and the funny parts are hilarious. If you're into samurai flicks at all, you have to see this one. :smashin:

Very funny, very violent, and more enjoyable than Kill Bill, saw it at odean Covent Garden, make a visit if you can.

Though i dont actually agree with trying to compare it with Kill Bill, Zatoichi as the charcter has appeared in quite a few movies and this is the latest attempt by the 'Beat'.

sorry sly, I'm in Hong Kong atm, so I watched a copy at a friend's place. It's definitely exact copy with proper english subtitles and dts sound as he has a all-in-one.

Since I saw it in theatres not too long ago, I can all but confirm that this R3 version is the same as the one that I saw in the theatre. (ie, none of the blood / limb loss has been edited)

Of course, it's quite possible that the UK cinema release was edited to begin with. :zonked:
