The Z3 is quiter, has 2000:1 contrast ratio as opposed to the Epsons 800:1, a free lamp (worth about £250) and is hidef 1280x720 unlike the Epsons 854 x 480. etc etc. Its a much better machine and the reason everyone is talking about it is because of the huge price drop/free lamp!

6 months is a lifetime in projection terms, by the time you've saved for the Z3 something else will be tantalisingly just out of reach.

Though the HD hurdle now starts at an amazing £850, if that's still too steep then the TW10 at less than £500 is perhaps the next best thing, though the DLP Benq 5120 is also well liked.

Live for today is my motto...PJ :)

Buy what you can afford now and learn the ropes of front projection. When you upgrade in the future to something perhaps a bit more pricey you'll have the basics under your belt,as well as a the rest of your equipment all set up. That in itself can take a while.

If you wait 6 months, to get your 1st PJ you'll be kicking yourself you didn't do it sooner.

Say nuts to it and just go for it. The free lamp offer probably won't last forever.

I was wibbling around the £500 units for weeks and then went for the Z3 after thinking over 2 years it was only about £42 a month, unfortunately I jumped in before the free bulb offer and price drop.

I am really pleased with the Z3 and would probably have been equally as pleased with whatever I had bought. The Z3 is quieter than the xbox in the same room, that's how quiet it is on low lamp setting.
