Remind me, how do you get that display? It's absurd it isn't in the standard display info, IIRC you have to hold a button down for some time, but forget which one.

what im saying is that these pjs should be use in moderation, its not a crt tele, glad u can afford a bulb every so many months! would be cheaper to buy a pj with 6000 hours life, too expensive??

I use mine in moderation. Not because of bulb life issues but time issues, basically I dont have enough of it :)

If you have to change a bulb after 2000hrs, for arguments sake, does it matter if you've got to 2000hrs in 1 year or 10, its still done 2000hrs.

People that already have 100hrs+ have watched say 40 - 50 films, why should they only watch every third one on the PJ to preserve the lamp life (time wise)

My problem is these people obviously have far too much time on their hands ;)

Whos gonna buy a bulb in a few months?100 hours in a month should average out to give you about 2 years of bulb use(correct me if Im wrong:confused: ).

Noone has said it was some sort of race or clever to use up the bulb the quickest, the reason for my post was to see if my usage was typical or if I was over using it.At the end of the day, people have bought their pj to watch films on(and play games and watch a little tv obviously:p ),what is there to gain by leaving it in the corner gathering dust happy in the knowledge that your bulb is going to last for many years:laugh:

Agreed, we all bought our projectors to watch things on a big screen. If your lamp lasts 2000 hours and costs a mighty 400 quid its still only 20p an hour. Sit back and enjoy it!!!

Tried sunglasses yet... it's one of the more extreme techniques to extract the very last ounce of performance from your PJ.

well a filter is a possibility, otherwise the black level is pretty much stuck at 'crap' settings..... sorry guys, with lcd, this is the truth and you gotta accept it!

Regarding the black level issue, the z2 is my first pj so u might have more experience but i can see no issue with the blacks,to my 28 year old eyes they are black? I did paint the room matt brown before setting up so maybe that has made a diffrence?
Just wanted to say it cause this issue could put people off and i cant see a problem.

Averaging out about 3 hours viewing per night, I've had mine under three weeks or so, 62 on the clock.

Up until I had viewed the Z2, after purchase, I'd never seen a projector in action. I can't comment on the black level compared to other PJ's, but I'm more than happy with the output from this machine....I'd be more than happy to reach 2000 hours, whenever, or how soon that might be.

Some people arent bothered and i have read people saying their blacks are totally black. Frankly statements like this are counterproductive because we know for fact that the blacks arent totally black!

anyhow, it seems to be a personal thing, but the black do bother me.

Sure each to their own we all have diff opinions, just didnt want it to put people off buying one because of it as most people wont even notice.Maybe to the pj guru like yourself:) but first time buyers like me wont see a problem.
