AE500 wins on 1080i, but the Z2 wins on 720p in my opinion.

Also projector central has just done a review and basically said they are virtualy the same with each unit having its own little advantages. AE500 has a slight edge on the overall pic quality.

    see:-

    Regards,

    Chris

    P.S. I have a Z2.

    Chris,

    ..................... I'd say it isn't.......... ;)

    Kramer posting screenies of a Z2......................... now there's a surreal thought !!

BTW thought the choice of material for the screenshots is poor - all of them look dark and processed to me, I think the colour balance is iffey in both sets of screenshots (but if they've been processed then that doesn't count for much either....) they give no idea of performance in critical areas....... that shot (from Spiderman) looks a whole lot better in real life on my aE100 calibrated, filtered via Radeon...... if the Z2 or AE500 can't out-perform that then.........................

It's a tricky one. I couldn't imagine what Kramer would post a screen shot from... ;)

Comparative screenshots from the same kit in the same conditions have some worth, but different kit with the same scene is meaningless. I'm sure I could hook a cheap DVD via composite and make Messiah's Z10k look rubbish!

Screenshots are meaningless as to PJ ability really. Reducing 8ft to 6 inches hides lots of things. And lets be honest it isn't how good your projetcor looks with stills, it's how it looks with moving pictures. ...

    Cheers
    Marc

    We can hope!

And, in my case, not worry so much anymore... ;)

Yes, that is why screenshots are essentially useless.

It's how the picture moves and what it looks like at 8ft wide not at 6inches.

The only way to really tell is to demo first. (says the man on his third PJ without seeing them first, and probably why it took 3 PJs....)

I'd say it is the HS10 -- I run my HS10 from a Momitsu V880 via VGA (since the DVI port is occupied by the HCPC) and the picture looks good.

    Kramer

Why keep everyone guessing? Why not just say what it is? It certainly looks way better with much more visible detail and smoothness Probably a Sharp 9k or HT1000 (I reckon the former). (Unless of course you've bitten the bullet and bought a 10k :D)

    Go on, come clean :)
