Im just seeking comfort in numbers!!!

Just in case things go wrong I now know there are at least 5 others on this forum in the same boat who will be able to verify wether problems are endemic or just me!!!

I ordered one as my second, in my view there isnt that much risk involved because the price is so good

I think I'm finally about to take the PJ plunge too. I was dreaming of something in the £2000-$3000 range, but I just can't afford it (my Meridian 561 is very nice!).

At £1200, I think the Z2 is terrific value based on the spec and reports over at avsforum. The only "downer" that i have with the Z2 is the light output (only 700 ANSI). However, I do have the ideal (dark) basement room and with the 6' wide screen I have in mind, the foot lamberts should be more than ample. Everything else about the Z2 is perfect - 1200:1 CR, 16:9 HDTV resolution, lens shift, short throw, almost silent, DVI input, etc.

Looking forward to the impact of seeing familiar movies on the large screen again and finally, finally, justifying the phrase "Home Cinema".

Did you ask them to do a dead pixel check too?

I did not want to order without mentioning it...

Ivojo won't do free checks any more as they've had too many orders (20 on Monday morning alone).

Dead pixel checks are now £10, whcih is fair enough I suppose.

I've pre-ordered the Z2 as my first projector.
I was expecting to pay more than the pre-order price, so I'm happy to take the plunge.

Can't wait to experience the big screen in my living room. I too have no cables or screen yet.

Yeah the price really does negate a lot of the concern - because your not paying a fortune there's a lot less to lose - I mean I doubt very very much that it will be a 'lemon' but that's the risk isn't it.

But by all accounts from other people it's a good unit! They might even be able to extend the life of the lamp with the new fan setup.

Buns, I looked at dvi but read that signals are flaky over 7.5 metres (something to do with high clock rate. I needed 10metre runs so stuck with VGA. Will use a VGA to DVI converter.

means Im stuck with analogue, but then all my sources are analogue and I will be using the VGA with sky RGB.

Should I get a DVI DVD player then im up sh!t creek without a paddle, or in real terms I will have one cable not hidden!!

    I preordered one yesterday.

It will be my third projector. And a worthwhile upgrade I hope.

Now I just need to find a buyer for my Toshiba MT1.

So 2 dummys and 14 fellow potential Z2 early adopters.

At least we can form a support group if the Z2 turns out to be a lemon!!!

The cost of buying a PJ with a certain minimum level of performance (CR, resolution, noise, etc.) has finally sunk beneath a threshold that many are prepared to accept.

The other manufacturers will have to follow soon. It's great news.

    Graham,

I saw that one, it looks like a good all round solution.
Do you think that would be as good as the output from a PC ?

    Rich.

    Isn't life good..
