This is getting a little frustrating, everytime I contact Sanyo I am told that there is no firmware upgrade for the Z2.

However (My z2 Ver 1.03) I actually have version 1.06 on disc but I am reluctant to flash the unit myself as I do not want to risk loosing warrenty.

Has anyone had any luck in up-dating in the UK?

The newest version is 1.09, but I dont want to upgrade my self, because if somthing is going wrong it is very bad. Sent it to a shop then you get the newest version, and then you can get them to clean the lcd panel also if you have problems with dust bobbels, I have.

    trinemus,

Believe me when I say I have tried. I have contacted Sanyo myself to be told there is no such thing as a firmware upgrade, I have contacted the Sanyo service centres to be not told as much .... but they would charge £150 to clean the machine but that they would be no upgrade done..yeah thanks.
Wish things worked as like they seem to do in Denmark, and everywhere else except the UK.

    paulw77,

The improvements I was after helped with vertical banding but also below is taken from a french site (google translation) in answer to your question

firmware for PLVZ2 v1.06 which corrects since the 1.01 defects of colorimetry, compatibility HDCP, the correction of some bugs (safeguard of the adjustments of gamma and zoom modes not deforming.

Just to inform you that there are problems still
with 720P@50Hz with the 1.09 revision firmware.

I have not succedeed in always getting a syncronised picture
when useing 720P@50 and component connection.
I have read that DVI-D still have problems.

I am using a XCard from sigma designs.
I have created "mode lines" to generate what i belive is the correctly
    timed 720P@50 Hz signal.
I have gotten it to accept the signal if i start the projector with
this signal active, so i belive the timing is correct.

But I cannot get the Z2 to resync to this resolution if I switch
    from any other resolution.

    Guys,

I have foudn the instructions and have the 1.06 firmware file already. My issue is that I dont have the necessary cable, and dont fancy making one. Can anyone advise where I could obtain one (either buy or borrow)?
