Just noticed an interesting post on the avs fourm about the z2 only accepting 720p 60hz.

"2. PAL compatibility. Although most of my DVD's are R1, I live in the UK and so I do have some PAL discs. It appears that at 720p (I will be using Samsung HD935) the Z2 will only work at 60Hz and I am concerned about judder. Mind you, I think that the HD935 will only output a 60Hz 720p signal anyway? Can anyone shed some light on whether they think this will be a problem?"

I was thinking about pairing my z2 (when i get it) to the new pioneer 868 wich can output 720p via hdmi, is it going to work with the projector?

I don't think the issue is the Z2.

Currently the Samsung 935 can only output 720p in 60hz. Nothing to do with the projector, this is to any source.

    Cheers

I should really try to read the messages properly!

It is confusing though as you have Will quoting someone, who is quoting someone else!

    Cheers

I think the Momitsu V880 also outputs 720P at 60Hz...

This is a bit of a shame, but it doesnt look like anyone has tried 75hz yet, so there may be some hope yet!

I think the latest firmware lets the V880 send out various resolutions and refresh rates including PAL 720p @ 50Hz and 75Hz?

I'm sure people are saying that the Samsung will only send out 60Hz 720p PAL and that the Sanyo Z2 will only accept a 60Hz PAL 720p signal?

I have emailed Sanyo to find out and I'm waiting for a reply.

    Will,

Are you sure the DVI input on the Z2 is HDCP compatible? I can't see any mention of it on Sanyo's website specs. If it isn't, it won't accept the HDCP encrypted signal from the 868.

The Z2 is HDCP. Well, when I say that, I've seen it in several places (on various spec sheets), but like most people here, I don't have my Z2 to play with yet.

I will be using an HTPC so I'm not bothered about HDMI/HDCP, only which refresh rates the PJ will accept. 75/100Hz without tearing would be my ideal.
