I bought a Sanyo PLV Z1 in July 2004 and the picture has now dimmed to an alarming degree. Is that the normal lifespan for a bulb? It's not used every day by any means. Also wanted to ask the best and cheapest place to get a replacement and is there a switching off technique to prolong the life of the bulb? Thank you!!

I am aware of at least one Sanyo Z1's bulb dying in less than one year, at only 550 hours. How many hours does your PJ have?

Erm.. This it what it says when you hold in the button.

    Lamp 16 hrs
    Eco 552

    0577 hrs.

I had a quote for a replacement lamp for 172 pounds incl delivery from the company I bought the pj from which doesn't seem bad.
