The 15-episode second season now confirmed to premiere on Friday, September 11 (US).

Gives me time to finish season one.

I really enjoyed this, (as the first season), which is a welcome surprise as I'm not into anything zombie related as I tend to think it gets boring.
But this is so funny it's a joy to watch!!!

Really dont like the look of this myself but I have to ask why not just drain some of his blood and when you have sufficient amount everyone try to get to the lab or at least a backup incase something happens to the 1 bloke who has the cure.

I've found both the first 2 episodes of season 2 thoroughly entertaining so far. And episode 2 is very much a run and gun episode, lots of action ending with....

a major character death and shiny new team member. We thought it looked like that was the way they were going all through the episode, it was just a case of seeing whose NDE came last. Still, at least Doc wasn't last in line, him and Murphy are still the standout characters for me. The new guy seems handy, and it's looked like they've been missing a strong leading male since Garnet bought it in season 1. Some new blood could be enough to pull everyone back together again. Hopefully we won't have quite the same amount of gloomy female moroseness at the loss of a male sex partner this time round. And it does leave the door open for Citizen Z now, once he finds out the object of his facebook stalking's on the market again:D

I'm not sure what's going on with Citizen Z, though. It looks like he's been transported from his base in Alaska to the Eastern European set of a Universal Soldier flick

It may not be the classiest zombie show on the box but it's keeping me entertained

They're definitely going the post apocalypse gang warfare route this season. It kind of feels like a throwback to all the 1980's Italian Mad Max rip-offs they started making after the spaghetti zombie movie craze burnt itself out. And funnily enough, Episode 3 gives a bit more than just a tip of the hat to Fury Road, this week. Season 2's a bit different to season 1. I like it, they haven't been afraid to change things up and ramp up the action scenes, dialing back on the horror elements and turning it into more of an adventure show with added zombies and gore rather than a horror tv show. It's still cheap, but it's still fun to watch. If they ever get a budget to match their ideas it'd be quite the spectacle, but that's never going to happen.

I'm disappointed that 10K, despite being called a great shot all the time, misses far more than he ever hits anything, this season. His crackshot days from season 1 seem to be a long way off in his rearview mirror

the pre-credit sequence on episode 6 really made me laugh pretty hard. I like how they don't go down the dead serious route and change things up almost weekly so they keep things fun.

Is it just me that thinks this is a steaming pile of poop? Tried to get in to it but its just pants. Plot holes a mile wide and seriously lacks any continuity.

eg. There was nuclear war at the beginning, which seems to have been forgotten, haven't seen anyone losing their hair due to radiation etc

it's a long way from being a quality TV show, but I find it pretty entertaining.
    Regarding your spoiler thing
it wasn't a nuclear war, it was a missile launched to destroy the CDC lab due to the breach by Murphy and thew team when they went inside iirc. So it was localised, but I think they've explained away the fallout with going in a different direction to the wind so they avoid it. And I'm pretty sure they've come across a few people with radiation sickness as a result of the nuke strike

most weeks they manage to throw in a line of dialogue that explains their way out of some big-ish plot point from a previous episode. They do it in such a throwaway manner that they're usually easily missed

I'm starting to struggle with this. I'm finding it a chore to put on. I usually watch while doing something else as the bits that i really enjoyed in season 1 are still the same. Considering dropping it.

At last, a zombie programme where as soon as they see someone eating someone else for the first time, they shout zombie. Most shows they actnlike they've never heard of zombies before.

Z nation blows walking dead out of the water, it actually has a story, and they have crossed the US in half the time rick et al have taken to cross Georgia.

Z Nation is a good comedy
    TWD is a GREAT drama

comparing the two is like comparing Brooklyn Nine-Nine to Homicide: Life on the Street
    - although Andre Braugher is in both

    Perhaps.
Although downton abbey tends to win the best drama awards.

So, perhaps not a 'great' drama.
And I guess as z nation has taken the piss out of walking dead directly, you could argue it is the comedy out of the two ;)

I don't take awards too seriously ... perhaps the nominations, but often not the winners ... the fact that sh*t like Modern Family won repeatedly against the superior Parks & Rec proved to me how fudgeed up the Emmys are.

TWD and the cast have been nominated quite a lot with the big gong givers. Downton as a posh Brits of yesteryear show gives the US film and TV media circus a hard-on like no other, whereas here it was essentially seen as a soap, which it was imho.

It's barmy and fairly repetitive but I stuck with it mainly to see what happens to Murphy. Will be watching season 3 as well.

Yeah that is why I had still been watching. But the fact that they never seem to get any closer to whatever place they are meant to be going to (can't remember any more), I just figured they'd string it out for another couple of series then get canned.
