    Hi all,
I need to know if I can run the component out from my DVD player, directly to my Plasma which has a 15 pin d-type connector on it. Any help would be great, thanks!

The model is the sony PFM-42B1E. It also has the composite and Y/C input card fitted.

    Thanks!

The plasma will take a component YUV signal through either of it's 15pin D-sub inputs. All you need to do is make sure it is accpeting the right signal by pressing the RGB/YUV button on the remote after selecting input 1 or 2.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks Retro!
Does this mean I can purchase a lead that will run from component out on the DVD player (3xPhono's) to the D-Type on the plasma? I don't need to put it through any special type of convertor box or something?

All you require is a cable to take the component signal into the 15pin d-sub.

The easiest ones of these to find are the 5 BNC to 15pin cables that are designed for RGBHV operation. You simply need to only use the RGB plugs, for the YUV parts and this should work fine.

You should be able to find a 3 phono to 15pin cables easily though.
