YouTube App on mobile phone

    For ages now and on the last 2 phones I've had, YouTube refuses to run at Max resolution automatically. For each video I open, I need to select 1080 or 720p, each time and it's really bloody annoying.

    Doesn't matter if I'm on my high speed WiFi, it mobile data, it's always the same.
    It defaults to around 240 or sometimes 480

    Don't know what's going on there, mine always plays at max resolution whether on WiFi or 4g.

    It does the same to me, no idea why.

    It's really frustrating me, even if I set it to auto, the quality is poor. Might try and find a 3rd party app and test that
