Man fined by Swiss court for 'liking' defamatory comments on Facebook
Be careful what you like.
Interesting article. I was wondering how you could get into trouble for simply adding a "Like", but hadn't considered that the act of clicking the "Like" button is analogous to sharing the story to all of your own "Friends", insofar as it would then appear on their feeds.
No surprise their
no surprise their what?
The swedes are proper whipped these days.
No surprise there, other than it's actually Switzerland, not Sweden where they're prosecuting someone for their Facebook activity.
For safety, I "funnyed" your article, just in case....
I blame Brexit. Since they have to make Toblerones with less peaks and more gaps, the Swiss obviously have far too much time on their hands. Pretty much every crappy thing traces back to Brexit.
Was going to like your post...sorry bottled it!!
Solidarity, there's safety in numbers
well to be fair, they have a lot in common, I mean, they do both start with the letter "S"
I do wonder what people's take on being prosecuted or punished for Liking a post on social media if for example that post was in support of the UK becoming an Islamic state.
I'm not talking about the minutia of technical differences between the contents of the post and the laws, but the general idea of supporting or opposing the prosecution or actions being taken against people for 'liking' or (similar actions) comments or ideas that are controversial.
I don't think people have the faintest idea how traceable they are on line. AVF is fairly anonymous, but even here we frequently get requests for accounts to disappear due to stalking. People let stuff slip that they'd never do in public, just look at the relationship threads in GC that quietly close.
Police issue social media warning - Cheshire Police
“Although you may believe your message is acceptable, other people may take offence, and you could face a large fine up to two years in prison if your message is deemed to have broken the law.
No wonder we need more police! Not to stop terrorists, but to check what people are doing on social media.
Think how many more warnings they could've sent out had May not binned all those policeman
Be careful what you post.
Man guilty of hate crime over 'Nazi pug'
Aka Count Dankula ... Tommeh et al have been jizzing over him all week
Distinguished member = jizzing over him
Taught his dog do do a Nazi salute and got hauled in front of the police and courts, jeeze. Things will only get worse.
But it wasnt just what he taught his dog, it was also what he said to the dog to make him salute and then put it in the public domain. And for that he´s a **** and deserves what he got....
Personally I cannot see the problem with Count Dankula’s joke dog. This country is getting worse. Anyway back to the pet pictures.
Heres our tufty.
Well you know that they say about pets and their owners....
All right rebel - tell us what he said to the dog!
And thanks to krish for reminding me of a word I haven't heard since junior school.
"Do you want to gas the Jews" and "seig heil"
Heres the vid:
For weeks he trained a dog to do a Nazi salute. The man was just convicted of a hate crime.
But some people, even on here, cant see whats wrong with that.....
Well I can, but to call it a hate crime is ridiculous.
The idea that anti-semitism, or racial prejudice, or racism, is a crime is absurd, as is the whole idea of hate being a crime.
Mr Worsfield's case is much worse though.
He should sue the police for thousands.
Ok. But to say what he said and then to make it public, opens up all sorts of doors. So presumably it would be ok to do the same but instead say to the dog, "do you want to lynch blacks" or " do you want to kick the sh*t out of gays" or something about the Irish, Pakistanis, Indians....
Equally horrible, and equally not a crime, of any sort.
Its quite enough that he made an idiot of himself.
Why isnt it a crime?
If I said that I think youre complete ******, youd ban me. There are rules in life especially if youre making statements in public.
Separate names with a comma.
