    Hi all,

I thought it might be interesting to see what consoles/games computers forum members have owned leading up to their current machine. I've included computers such as Amiga, Spectrum etc because they were primarily used for playing games on. I haven't included PCs because everyone has one and they're more multi-functional.

My list in chronological order is:

    1. ZX81
    2. ZX Spectrum
    3. ZX Spectrum (again!)
    4. ZX Spectrum with built in Tape deck
    5. Amiga A500
    6. Amiga A1200
    7. Amiga CD32 (ouch!)
    8. Sony Playstation 1
    9. Nintendo 64
    10. Sega Dreamcast
    11. Nintendo Gamecube
    12. Microsoft XBox
    13. Nintendo Gamecube
    14. .....possibly X360

I've only ever owned one at a time, selling/trading my existing console to finance the next one.

    RDB :)

Well I have bought and sold lots of games machines over the years, can't remeber the order to I've just listed what I have owned and what I still own.

    Have had:
BBC B, NES, Sega Master System ( 2 ), Gameboy Colour, SNES, MegaDrive ( 1 and 2 ), Mega CD, Playstation.

    Still have:
Acorn Electron, Sega Master System ( 1 ), Atari ST, Amiga 500, N64 ( with expansion ), GBA, Gamecube

Still play the N64, but then I am a massive Nintendo fan. I still find the Gamecube more fun then the xbox and PS2.

    BBC Model B, 32K
    Original PlayStation
    PS2

I've also used PC's for gaming from late 80's to mid 90's.

So is that the shortest list yet? :p I'll probably get XBOX360 and PS3 when released.

    My list would be:

    ZX Spectrum 48K
    Sega Master System
Acorn Computer (the one with the risk chip in it??, cant remember too much about it, except we were led to believe it was better than a PC by the bastard salesman and it turned out to be complete crap, cost about £800 aswell)
    Game Gear
    Sega Mega Drive
Sega Mega CD (< what a load of crap that was!)
    Sega Saturn
    PS2
    Xbox

Of this list I still have in the loft the Spectrum, Mega Drive, Mega CD and Sega Saturn. Acorn, Master System, Game gear and PS2 are gone, still use the XBox

and PC for about the last 10 years.

I wasn't allowed to own a games machine when I was a kid :thumbsdow so my list looks like it starts a bit late for my age (29) - I guess I'm now making up for lost time! I did however have Spectrum/C64 owning friends, where I spent many happy hours...

    Wow, great lists guys. :smashin:

If I ever win the lottery I think I'd have a dedicated room in my new mansion with a collection of vintage machines set up ready to play. Til then, there's always emulators ;)

I do have an addiction I think, and I might even be able to do a hand stand using just my thumbs. Though I wont try it :)

Computers, games and consoles have practically been my life. I was one of the only kids my age that didnt watch much tv. I go off into my own little world when playing and find it hard to come 'cabk to reality' sometimes (and yep I do suffer with various mental health, and have treatment too) but yeah I have a problem :D

I have had bad cases of 'sega thumb' over the years (damn you track and field and streetfighter, why are you both so addictive )

PS I love your llama's, their great :smashin:

and I may have to get Forza some time and show you that even though I have played on that many systems, it dont really pay off now I'm 26. I seem to have lost the knack for catching onto games.

My list is pretty small. Gaming has featured heavily in my life but certain points I've had other things keeping my interest ;)

    Binatone tennis with gun
Binatone without gun - 'with gun' broke & they stopped selling the one with a gun :-(
    Atari 2600
    Commodore64
    Sega Megdrive
    Playstation
    Dreamcast
    Xbox
    GC

Commodore PET (belonged to my school but I monopolised it!)
    Grandstand 2000
    Video Genie
    Colour Genie
    Spectrum 128
    Commodore Amiga 500
    Atari 1040STF
    Lots of PCs
    Sony PSP.

So I've been playing video games pretty much since they were available in the home, but only last week got my first console (or rather my son did) for more than 20 years depending on whether you think the likes of the Genie/Colour Genie/Spectrum/Amiga/Atari ST were consoles or computers. Personally I think they were more computers.
