I spoke to Kef audio about my model 20b subwoofer that didn't seem to be outputting at a high enough level, they suggested using a 1 to 2 lead rather than the single phono lead I have been using.

Well it makes a noticable difference to the output levels and it appears that there is more slam and depth.

Don't know if this works on all subs but you could try.

I did ask a question about this and no one replied so can't be common knowledge.

    Hi john,

Yes I do mean a single to 2 phono's - but I didn't realise that subs came with only one phono input.

Both of the subs I have owned had 2 or more.

    what make do you have?

    Hi Brox,i have a Paradigm servo 15
i just got it yesterday and im staggered been playing all morning with much delight.
The servo when sold new comes with a controller console called the x-20 or x-30 maybe this has two phono inputs but all the sub has is on/on when there is a signal/off,single phono in and the subwoofer level dial.
Not much flexibility but so far i haven't had any problem finding great results i dont have a spl meter so i cant comment too much but by ear only im amazed.
    Regards,John.

My Storm mark one has a single XLR input and my previous Q Bass only had a single phono.

My PS1000 has 2 inputs which the manual reccommends using to get more out of the sub. I haven't tried it yet but must get myself a lead to see if there is any improvement.

The difference will be notable. Maplin on Great Western road have 1 into 2 connectors for less than £1.
