I have upgraded (on my 2011 iMac) and overall quite like it. However, I cannot get the answer call / make calls on mac to work. I have the same icloud address on the mac and iphone, the appropriate boxes are checked on both devices and the phone is right next to the mac / router so on the same wifi network. When someone calls from their mobile number to my mobile I get the notification on the mac with answer / decline options but when I click answer it pauses for a second or two then says call failed. Same when I call out - click on the mobile number, call, pauses and then says call failed. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

You need to ensure that you have an email address ticked under the 'you can be reached by imessage at' setting on your iPhone (Settings-Messages-Send & Receive). You may untick this email once iMac calling has been set up.

When I had the Yosemite beta it wouldn't work properly but now it's updated to the full version it's working fine-although I did have to do the above and sign in/out on the Mac to get it to work

Edit : had to sign completely out of iCloud on the Mac,then it started working as well as all the handoff stuff

Thanks for all the responses. Got it working now - seems to get confused with an ethernet AND wifi connection. If i unplug ethernet and leave wifi only it all works fine although sound quality pretty ropey i.e. sounds like I am down a hole. Seems that the meaning of "on same wifi network" means only wifi. Ho Hum but at least i got it figured.

Glad you finally got it working, although I don't believe that the wifi/Ethernet is the only reason (don't ask me what the exact cause of your problem was though!). I very rarely have my MBP's wifi on, since these days it mainly resides on my desk connected to my network via Ethernet and I can answer calls on my MBP without issues. However, I don't appear to be able to make FaceTime audio calls from my MBP - it makes the call but it won't successfully connect when the call's answered.

Edit: I've sorted the issue out now, I had a duplicate contact on my MBP (despite it using the same Contacts info as my iPhone), that appeared to prevent calls being successfully made via the MBP.
