After my first 26GA4E set had some quite major colour problems via the RGB input, the retailer replaced my set. Funnily enough they replaced it on the spot(ie, picked up and replaced all in one go). I didn't even ask for a replacement but if it meant I'd have a working TV, sweet! ...it's not to be though. This second set has even more problems than the first. It arrived in a white box this time, rather than the brown of the first set. I unpacked the TV, all looked well enough. The problems began when I tried to swtich it on. The green light would come on for a couple of seconds then the red light would flash on and off, the fans wouldn't kick in(sounds familar eh?)... I'd read about other people having this problem so I figured I'd got a duff set aswell. After about 10 minutes of pressing the power button on and off, the TV finally booted up. I hooked up SKY and my DVD player. The colour problem has definitely improved, especially on blacks(credits) but it's still effident slightly. I can only assume it must be a calibration issue. I guess I'm just gonna have to live with it, this second set is certainly better than the first though, that's for sure. The power issue isn't the only problem I have with this new set either. The new TV will not accept a DVI signal from my PCs. With the old set I had 1368x768 running perfectly without any trouble. I used two PC's today with this new one, changed the resolutions to 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x768 all to try and get the Sharp to accept the signal but it just won't!! I could only get a picture using low resolution and standard VGA drivers(catalyst wouldnt work), BUT it won't keep it. When the PC is rebooted it loses it, it doesn't even scan for it. "Menu > setup > input signal" it's always greyed out, on the old set I remember it said "DVI" or "PC" or something. I don't know why this one should be any different but it's not playing ball. Then the power button problem started again, I've had enough with these TV's already. I contacted Sharpserv who are going to send out an engineer. I'll get my list of problems all ready for when he arrives. I've packed it up because I'm sick of it already. I've had a GA4 now since the middle of December and can honestly say I've not had any enjoyment out of it at all.
