Yet another retune problem

I retuned my TV (built-in Freeview) and got all the channels plus the new ones, but they were all very poor quality and breaking up constantly. Every channel was unwatchable. So auto scanned again, this time it missed out loads of channels including BBC. Rescanned again, BBC ended up in 800's, so scanned again several times. I've tried manual scanning and factory resets, checking cables etc too with no joy.

Now there is no BBC, ITV, C4 etc. All I can get are 2 of the 6 UHF channels, the other 4 won't pick anything up. The aerial points to Pontop Pike.

Does anyone have any idea what I can do next, it's driving me up the wall:confused:

Edit: I plugged in an old freeview box and it scanned the same 2 UHF channels as the TV, there is a very tiny signal on the other 4 UHF channels but not enough to pick anything up

Same here mate. Re-tuned now no ITV, C4, 5 etc.. and all the channels are in the wrong order and named wrong!

Will a factory reset or first time installation wipe my hard drive? I have lots of programms recorded and dont want to loose them!

Check your menu for an installation restart or initial setup and take that option but instead of an autotune of channels select a MANUAL channel scan and then individually scan the six main channels of Pontop Pike to find the channels on the six muxes.

I have to do this with my toshiba DVD recorder because the tuner finds channels from alternative transmitters.

You need to select Auto reset, or default settings to first clear the tuner of all the original tuner data.

It won't let me do a manual tune straight after a reset, it automatically autoscans before I have the option of a manual scan.

So evidently there is something wrong with the aerial installation - or the flyleads you are using.... given that it is behaving exactly the same as the TV.

Ok. I'll look into that. But I do find it odd that everything was fine until the retune:confused:

Indeed it does not explain that... but a big storm passed over the Pontop Pike area at around the time of the retune so possibly your aerial has been damaged or has moved.
