We've decided to upgrade our telly (look at the pictures attached and you can see why!) to a Panasonic TH37PX70 and have come up with the following solution to hang it on the wall and conceal the cables as modelled in Google Sketchup. It's going to have a rope light attached to the framework behind the overhang of the MDF front (blatantly ripped off from groove - nice idea )
This afternoon's job was to install the uprights for the framework. Here before:
Here's what I used to attach them. They are 160mm coach screws with flanged heads going into 12x60mm Fischer SX plugs. Don't use B&Q - Screwfix is the place to shop.
Here is the result of my afternoon's labouring:
Will be progressing over the next few weeks with the TV at the month end. I can't wait to see it finished.
