Yet another Excel question

Is it possible to set up Excel to send an email reminder or outlook calendar reminder on set dates?

I'm working out a more efficient way to manage invoice requests so rather than having to manually go and check the spreadsheet I want Excel to tell me when one is due.

There are 40+ projects all with different payment schedules etc.
