My parents got their panasonic TH42PZ70 delivered this morning and my old fella is a big Man United fan, would it be wise to watch Man United v Newcastle on Setanta later during the run in period as the setanta logo will be on display for 1 half hours during the game.

I have reduced all their settings on the tv to low contrast and brightness etc and its in cinema mode.

Am i being over cautious or is this a big No No ?

If you are worried you could use 'zoom' a few times throuughout the match to shift the logo.

Are you serious? What have you been reading! You've bought a telly, not an ornament! Watch it, that's what it's designed for. Your settings are probably too low if you are that paranoid. Half way should be fine, get yourself a setup disc and calibrate it, it will be on safe settings if you do that.

    I would say you're being over-cautious.

although I'm sure there will be those who disagree.

Yes, in the languages section usually. That's surprisingly good for basic contrast, brightness and sharpness, which are the pertinant settings for prevention of screen damage. With the use of the THX optimiser, your chances of screenburn are vanishingly small, even gaming. Your brain will burn before permanent screen damage.

We watched the game and it seems fine, its just your over cautious when its a new plasma television especially with it being your parents set. I have to say the football seemed amazing in quality on the 42PZ70 and thats taking into account that it was on setanta and they don`t have the best signal feeds.
