M.E.N. on Saturday evening. Its all coming back to me, Heart of the Sunrise (or was that Tequilla sunrise), Close to the edge, just by a river (take me down to my boat by the river and I wont cry out......ulp nope thats not right). Southside of the sky. Were we ever colder? Goalposts for jumpers, small boys in the park. Marvellous, is'nt it??

Anyone else going? or am I the only one worshipping Rick Flakeman and Steve Who ? or is that Doctor who, well you never can tell. Here I go again (on my own).

Their all about 106 and should be dead, but its my teenage formative years speaking across the mists of time.........

Now wheres Foxtrot and Nursery Crymes and selling England ahh the good old days.

And of course if Steve Howe looked like Will Young you'd be drooling all over him?

It was your reference to Rick Wakeman being 106 and should be dead that cut me to the quick as he's younger than me. Not as good looking as me I'll grant you.

Forget their ages it's the music that matters. Having seen their last 3 tours in Manchester and Liverpool they're improving with age. Looking forward to the MEN as it's far bigger than the Manchester Apollo.Particular favourites on tonight's set list include...

    Turn of the Century
    Going for the Once
    Mind Drive
    Your is no disgrace
    And you and I
    Starship Trooper
    Rutual

Yes, Wonderous stories and sounds tonight.

This and Peter Gabriel on 30th June plus maybe Rush - the 70s are returning in style.

Yes have obviously retained a huge and loyal following judging by last nights crowd. I have to say that it only rated an OK by my standards.

Not sure where Steve Howe was going, he didnt seem to be in time with the rest of the band, Rick Wakeman seemed disgruntled that he had to appear. Alan White played his heart out and Chris Squire played with some passion.
Jon Anderson is the same as he always was, just older, his walk around the audience was embarassing.

Marks out of ten, I will give them five, thanks for the memory chaps, but........

If you want to see a Iconic performance by a 70s legend, go and see Roger Waters instead. If you want more up to date musical ability, Perfect Circle, Tool, Muse or Radiohead would fit the bill.
