If you're a fan of the film, then this should be the definitive version (except for the lack of a DTS track!)

Apparently certain R1 suppliers will be doing a deal where if you buy DWW you can pick one from a list of 20 other MGM SE's to recieve free. I don't know what the other 20 SE's are or even if it'll be valid for overseas customers, but it might be worth shopping around to see.

While I am a fan of DTS, I don't think that the lack of it will really spoil my enjoyment.

It still amazes me the amout of importance some people put on DTS soundtracks, is there any proof that they are better?

Good news about the film though. Might have to get it dont think ive seen it all the way through

Personally i find DTS soundtracks less compressed and more open sounding usually the rear effects channel is more open and this has to do with the coding method try going to http://www.dtsonline.com/dtsposition.pdf to check out what i mean, anyways bottom line is why can't they give us the choice and put DTS and Dolby Digital on the disc, if ur happy with Dolby then ok fine thats ur choice but i prefer DTS, plain mathematics less compression has to equal better sound (( assuming the very best elements have been used for the sound)) and also if lord of the rings can include 4 commentary tracks and a dts and dolby track then why can't MGM provide a DTS track for this film ?

I don't know about the facts - as people say there shouldn't be a difference but there is - at least to my ears and I bet 99.9 percent of people out there (who watch movies and actually care about this type of thing....) would rather listen to a DTS movie than a DD movie.
