I've been waiting for this one!

I've managed to install the new kernel and I am able to add a new wireless connection into the network setup window, but I just couldn't get it to connect.

It was early in the morning when I tried it though, was there anything out of the ordinary in the setup you needed to do?

You can connect wirelessly to the internet while using linux, instead of having to run cat6 cables everywhere!

Yep, late night for me too trying to set it up. I keep getting -

"Error for wireless request -Set Bit Rate *8B20 (or 8820, can't tell!)
SET failed on device ETH0:Operation not supported.

Here's my setup, am I doing anything wrong do you think? I have a Dlink ADSL router with WPA-PSK key btw -

    Mode :Auto
    Network SSID :Auto
Channel 6 (which my router is on)
    Key 0x(plus my WPA key)

or is this where i'm going wrong and the Wifi only connects using WEP? Please, somebody help me......

I seem to have answered my own question, having searched on the YDL forums it appears WPA isn't currently supported hence no connectivity - only Open or WEP wifi at the moment....think i'll wait until they have sorted it

Ok, being the curious egg I am I decided in the end to try connecting using WEP just temporarily to see if WiFi works.

It did, (although it couldn't see any external websites) and now it doesn't, still can't reconnect! - and I didn't change anything...

I don't understand why, it's so s**t that i'm not going to bother now unless somebody can produce a writeup on how it works 100%, and as for YDL's bulletin on the WiFi connection - well that just sucks.

The PS3 can connect fine to my router as when I rebooted into the game-os I was logged in to the PSNetwork using WEP.

    Frustrated!
