After months of lurking on this forum, I have taken the plunge and ordered a A300 from Discount.tv

Also ordered a Ixos 1713 component cable, and a Panasonic S75 from Multiregion-magic.co.uk

Its going to be an expensive month.

Congrats, it's a good projector, I'm sure you'll be happy with it. What are you planning on using for a screen ?

I plan on just using a pull down white roller blind which I can get made for about £60 at my local bathroom place.

About 80 - 90 inches diagnally in size I think.

I am having it jet white colour, although understand that a light grey may be better.
The projector will be about 13-15 feet from the screen.

Thing is that I am working on tuesday when both items are to be delivered, I may wait until Wednesday, and just tell work I have to go to the doctors, and go to the City-link depo to pick them up.

Last week I also bought a KEF 2005 Mark 2 speaker set, and a Denon 1803 amp.

think you may wanna recalculate that screen size at

    13 foot =Diagonal Range: 107 - 134 in. ( 8.9 - 11.1 ft.)
    14 foot=Diagonal Range: 116 - 144 in. ( 9.6 - 12.0 ft.)
    15 foot=Diagonal Range: 124 - 154 in. ( 10.3 - 12.8 ft.)

    taken from
    http://www.projectorcentral.com/projection-calculator.cfm

ps i was told that the 300 calculations r wrong on the site and to go by the ptae100 screen sizes

Captain, if you only want to use a blind as a temporary screen, then I would recommend the Tupplur blind from Ikea (search for Tupplur on here) as it is 2m wide - 90" diagonal - and comes in white and light grey (the white seems to be a tad flimsier). It's a blackout material and is only £20 for the 2m size which is the biggest they do.
I've decided I'm going to use this until my next PJ at which time I'll invest in a proper screen.

I saw one in action for the first time yesterday in John Lewis
I couldnt resist changing the focus!!

even in a well lit showroom at an angle to the screen it produced a very nice picture, not hint on any screendoor to my eyes

It doesnt work quite like that

unbeatables current price is £1650 I think you will have to check the site pt-ae300ec so if the cheapest price you can find is £1331 you pay £1331 less 10% of the price difference which will be about £1300 I guess I havent got a calculator to hand.

Every little helps and of course you are buying from a large retailer which may be a bit safer than any site you match against
