Thinking of getting the HTR5540RDS, but have seen it in a package with speakers (HTIB 45)
Is it worth getting the package or the amp alone and getting other speakers ??

    hi ianw1977
you don't say what your budget is for your speakers .You can get the receiver for around £210 the nsp220 speaker package retails around £140 the hti-b45 around£320 a saving of £30 .Ian i started off with this package the receiver being the better piece but as a starter kit you could do a lot worse. If you can afford it buy the 5540 and go for a mission Mseries speaker package again good value then your on the first rung of the upgrade ladder . good luck gonzo;)

have a look at the nsp320 speaker package from yamaha should be £250 but from unbeatable.com £197 .You can check the system out on the yamaha web page would be a decent match for the receiver for £200 that is your budget its not a bad buy.
