Yamaha Z9 vs Yamaha 3020

I have had my Yamaha Z9 since new. It partners a Kef Thx 7.1 speaker system via a cambridge audio 650bd using the multichannel outputs. I am looking to upgrade with a view to also buying a 3d projector (panasonic or jvc). I am looking at a yamaha 3020 and a marantz 7007ud blu ray. My worry is will a 3020 be as good as my z9 in the sound department.
