    Hello,
I have a Yamaha yst-msw10 subwoofer that used to go with my PC setup, the question is will it work ok with my Sony STR1080 amp?
I have no problems hooking it up with the amp but Im worried that i might fry the speaker if i go above 39db.

I only want to try it because my wife doesnt like it on the PC desktop anymore and thought it might go under the sofa and give me a mean bass pump up my ar*e, joking aside any help would be appreciated.

    Regards Malcolm

How is the sub connected to the amp?
What other speakers are you using?
I don't think you will fry it if its connected via a phono connection but i don't think it will be up to much in a av system.
