I have just purchased a Yamaha YSP2200 soundbar to work alongised my Panasonic Viera TX-P50u30 plasma, Virgin Tivo box and Sony BDP S590 blu ray player.

Initial set up was fine - Tivo and Sony connected to YSP2200 by HDMI and TV connected to YSP by HDMI using ARC ports on both the soundbar and the TV.

The set up screen on the YSP appeared fine but the TV (which was on default input HDMI1) was blank. The full manual for the YSP (which was not in the box for some reason - had to get it online) makes clear that there should be set up messages on the TV screen as well as the YSP. I am hoping it's nothing to do with the fact that I didn't use the supplied video pin cables between the TV and the YSP as part of set up - the Panny doesn't have an optical input to allow me to do that but I assume that should not be an issue as HDMI cables carry audio and video.

I expect my mistake is basic - hoping someone can set me straight !

    Thanks

    PJG
