I use my amp for both music and movies equally and as im upgrading from pro-logic to DD/DTS im thinking about the musical abilitly of the amp. Ive narrowed it down to the Yammy A5 or the Denon 1601 (as ive heard the sonys are crap for music?) Now as im a bit of a poor student id rather buy from the net as i could save £60-70. So this sort of puts auditioning them out of the picture. so What do you guys recommend or is there very little difference? Do you think an audition is neccesary? Also the power of the Denon is 10watts less but i dont think this will have a very noticable effect do you?

    Thanks for any help, jon.

IMHO I would lean towards the Denon if music is equally important to you as HT.

If your budget can stretch, I would suggest stepping up to the Denon 1801 or even the 2801 if at all possible.
