    Hi,

I have a Yamaha S540 DVD player hooked up to a Panny TX32PD30 using component connections.

When I select Progressive Scan on the DVD player, the resulting picture is considerably more colour saturated than with Progressive Scan switched off.

BTW, this is with PAL DVD's.

Have any S540 owners out there had the same issue/feature, or do I have a dodgy DVD player?

    Cheers,

    Paul

Few things to consider - is your Panny TV prog scan capable? While I run this DVD machine through a projector, I find that PAL prog scan does not look much better than its interlaced brother. However, I find NTSC prog to be a much bigger improvement.

    Hi Markie Boy,

    Thanks for the response.

Yes, the Panny will accept both PAL and NTSC prog scan.

With your projector do you notice any difference in colour saturation when you select prog scan on the DVD player?

    Cheers,

    Paul
