Will this amp comfortably drive B&W 602s3 front, LCR600 centre and 3x600s3 rears or should I be looking at something with a bit more power to get the best out these speakers? If so any suggestions?

Thanks

They'll power them, but I personally recommend a higer grade amp. Sony 333 or similar price bracket........

yes i agree, B+W need quite a beefy amp, Id go for something like the KEF cresta range, or maybe take a trip down to richer sounds.Maybe Mission or Eltx range. You want speaker around the 89/90db (8ohms)

Isn't the 602 around the 89/90db (8ohms)?

That reciever should be fine, a clean 75 watt per channel(which it does) is more than enough. Unless you will be using them at over "rock concert" levels, then you should worry.

I am using the B&W 602 S3 in a stereo combo with the Nad C370(min 120w), and the things still crave more power!

I wouldnt listen to the advise about the Kef Cresta, they are in a whole different league altogether!

Geoffc10 would it really be wise to swop B&W for Eltax?

At the end of the day, if you can afford to spend more, get a better receiver, but I think that the Yamaha will do just fine.

I noticed a subwoofer wasnt in the speakers listed, I would recommend you get a beefy one. The B&Ws dont go very low.

Really?! I'd be very suprised if you are reaching the limits of that amp with 602 s3's.

Thanks for the response guys, just to clarify, already have the speakers and i'm out to buy a sub and receiver this week. Looking at the CHT10 for the sub and still deciding on the receiver. Will a Marantz 6300 do a better job than the yammy 630rds or should I stick with the yamaha?

Thanks again,

Dan

The marantz 6300 has 25 watts more power so this may be usefull, suppose the best way would be to get a demo!
