Had a free to day to play with my new toys and come across a problem.
My DVD player which is a Sony DVPNS700 is capable of playing SACD's. I put in the demo disc and connected up the 6 channel o/p to the i/p of the Rx. Then selected 6 channel i/p, but playback is only coming through on the center and front right speakers?
The dvd recognises that it has a SACD according to the front panel illumination and have I double checked that the leads are correct.
The same speakers operate when I select DVD on the receiver which is set up to receive the audio on the coax i/p. The Rx iteself is fine and have encountered no other problems.
I can't seem to find any other information in the handbooks.
If anybody has an idea where the problem lies it would be much appriciated.

    Thanks

It's going to be one of a few things, either your cabling, the inputs or the SACD.

Switch some of the cables round to check that they are all functioning. Then plug the front channels cables into the rear inputs to check the amps inputs.

If all that is ok, then i would imagine that the SACD is only 3 channel.
