No idea about the 420, but you can rely on Yamaha for value for money. I'm sure you won't be disapointed. As for speakers, howabout the mission Cinema 6?

    Hi MPK200,
My brother bought the HTIB40 (home theatre in a box)which features the rxv-420 rds and as Arthur has just rightly said it is good value for money. This receiver has got a Dolby Digital and D.T.S. decoder built in plus 65 watts all round together with 2 optical and 1 coaxial digital inputs. It has also got 5 channel stereo which is very good when listening to cds. After setting it up for my brother I think the value for money for this kit is amazing considering the sound.Incidently he got it for £399.99 from Audio Times in 47-49 Fountain Street Belfast Northern Ireland...the assistants name was Mark.Hoping this is of some help.

    Regards
swartzy
