Hi All,

Im new to the world of surround sound and am looking to purchase my first AV Receiver/Surround system for a small room(12 * 12 ft). I was looking at the Yamaha RX-V671 and Q Acoustics 2000. Can someone please tell me if this is overkill! Will the surround sound work properly in such a small room? If this is too much are there any other receivers/speakers or surround sound units I should be looking at. I already own a pair of surround sound Headphones

Thanks

That room should be plenty big enough to get a decent surround sound experience - it is larger than my home cinema and I'm really happy with my room. As for the amp, it should do the trick nicely - you won't use much of the power of it in such a room, but that doesn't matter, it'll sound great at lower levels.
